Council is pleased to announce it is conducting a comprehensive review of the Narromine Sporting Complex, including infrastructure, usage and operations. Councillors and Staff participated in a workshop yesterday in order to discuss options and issues involving the facility.

Narromine Shire Council, as part of its ‘Fit for the Future’ Improvement Plan has committed to improve the level of cost recovery and income generation from its community and recreational facilities and this will involve close scrutiny of all of Council’s assets and operations.

“It is important that Council achieves the best possible result on behalf of the community and accountability of ratepayers’ funds” Cr Craig Davies, Mayor said.

“It is our hope that the sporting complex will be improved with greater access across a broader base of user groups” he added.

“The finalisation of the leasing arrangement for the Narromine Saleyards to the local agents group is another important step forward in Council’s review of its assets, and we look forward to more progress in the near future” Cr Davies said.
