In accordance with Section 252 and 253 of the Local Government Act, it is necessary for Council to adopt a policy on the Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Mayors and Councillors. Council considered the policy at its meeting on 20th October 2009 and it has been placed on public exhibition for 28 days. Copies of the policy are available from Council's office, on the website, Narromine and Trangie Libraries and the BP Service Station at Tomingley. Any person wishing to make a submission on the policy should forward the submission in writing to Council addressed to the General Manager, by 12 noon on Tuesday 17th November 2009. Residents who are considering undertaking building works for things like sheds (including farm sheds), residential additions, swimming pools, carports, pergolas and the like, may have to lodge a development application with Council for and gain approval before starting work. To avoid delays in the assessment process, residents are encouraged to contact Council prior to submitting an application. Council staff can assist residents with the information required to submit with the application. It is important that the necessary information is submitted. The time to gain an approval will be greatly reduced if all the necessary information is provided. Please contact Council’s Health and Building Department if you require any assistance with lodging a development application.
