Alan Burns Oval redevelopment to commence in October

The redevelopment of Trangie’s Alan Burns Oval is another step closer to commencement with the appointment of the successful contractor, David Payne Constructions, confirmed this week.

Following the success of a Liquor and Gaming NSW Grant for $692,815 in June 2017 applied for by the Trangie Rugby Union Club and an additional $300,000 committed to the project from Narromine Shire Council the project is set to commence in October, weather permitting.

Narromine Shire Council’s General Manager Jane Redden said “Council is very excited about commencing the redevelopment of Alan Burns Oval in Trangie.”

“Hopefully, if weather permits, work should be completed by early next year”

“The redevelopment of the Oval will see the Trangie Community have a first class playing surface” she said.

The full redevelopment of Alan Burns Oval playing surface includes; surface and sub surface drainage, new irrigation and turf.

Works will commence in October following the 2018 winter sports season and, weather permitting, will be completed early next year ensuring no disruption to the 2019 winter sports’ season.
