The community gathered today in Trangie to celebrate the opening of Alan Burns Oval after the recent redevelopment.
In June 2017, Trangie Rugby Union Club was announced as the successful recipient of a Liquor and Gaming NSW Grant for $692 815 as well as $300 000 committed
to the project from Narromine Shire Council. The project commenced in October 2018 and the redevelopment is now complete.
“Council would like to thank the NSW Government Department of Industry for their support through Liquor and Gaming NSW” said Narromine Shire Council’s
General Manager, Jane Redden.
“Part of our Community Strategic Plan is to provide facilities that foster healthy lifestyles and consider resources needed to maintain open spaces to encourage greater use by the community,” she said.
“We are happy that the work has been completed on schedule and that the Trangie community now has a first class playing surface,” said Mrs Redden.

The Oval has been operational since 1 April, with all works having been completed before the first game of the winter season which occurred last Saturday, 6 April 2019.
