Community groups working together to celebrate NAIDOC Day in Narromine

A number of community, inter-agency and Aboriginal groups along with local schools and the Council are working together to celebrate NAIDOC Day in Narromine.

The Narromine community will come together on Friday, 21 September at Dundas Oval in Narromine from 10am – 2pm to celebrate our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders history, culture and future within our Community.

Narromine Community Skills Manager, Sharon Milnes said “it is great to see so many community groups and schools coming together to celebrate NAIDOC Day in Narromine”

Narromine Shire Council’s General Manager, Jane Redden said “we are lucky to have so many active groups within the community”

“Council supports the NAIDOC celebrations each year through inkind event support and promotion” she said.

The groups have been meeting monthly to organise the event and with the support of many services, Aboriginal Affairs NSW and local community groups the event is set to be a success. Save the date in your diary and join in the celebrations.
