Narromine Shire Council is preparing a submission to seek funding under the Restart NSW Fixing Country Road Programme for the upgrade of the Tomingley
and Eumungerie Roads including the Narromine heavy vehicle alternate route.
Sound infrastructure is a vital key to unlock rural Australia and we believe this proposed project fulfils this concept. Once upgraded these roads will be capable of carrying increasing traffic volumes and freight loads and improve the route for the farmers, truck drivers, parents and school bus drivers who drive on the road each day.
Our application requires the support of industry to be competitive in securing funds to complete these upgrades on road infrastructure and we are asking our landholders for support by completing a survey. The survey collects information about the number of truck movements, origin and destination and types and quantities of commodities. Applications close on 1 September 2017 therefore, Council will need the surveys returned by 18 August 2017 to ensure their inclusion in our submission.
We hope that our rural community will be able to assist Council in its efforts to secure the funds for this project. Please see below PDF to download survey. Should you have any questions regarding the survey, please feel free to contact Jordan Richardson, Manager Engineering Services on 6889 9999.
