Narromine Shire Council will receive over $750,000 in funding for extensive upgrades to Tom Perry Drive and the development of industrial land at the Narromine Aerodrome.
The funding has been received through the Growing Local Economies (GLE) Funding Stream which is part of the NSW Government’s $1.3 billion Regional Growth Fund. The GLE is designed to unlock growth in regional NSW by delivering infrastrucute that supports projects of economic significance.
Narromine Shire Council’s Mayor, Cr Craig Davies said “the funding will provide necessary upgrades to Tom Perry Drive which will enhance the visitor experience and general operation of the Narromine Aerodrome”
“The new industrial blocks are for aviation related businesses including tourism, aircraft repairs, avionics, agricultural uses, logistics, training and hangarage.”
“The 22 industrial blocks are anticipated to add up to 80 jobs generating over $6million in wages to the local economy”
The total value of works being carried out at the Narromine Aerodrome is $1.5million and includes;
