Narromine rail infrastructure upgrades

A Fixing Country Rail announcement has been made in Narromine by Member for Dubbo Troy Grant.

The announcement included a $4.2 million investment in the Narromine Rail yard.

Narromine Shire Council’s Mayor, Cr Craig Davies said “the upgrades will compliment investment further west on the track, assist in reducing transport costs to the farmer as well as increasing the capacity within the Shire”.

“The upgrades will enhance development and growth within the Shire across all industries”

“These types of projects can only be for the betterment of all industries within our Shire” he said.

The Narromine Ulan upgrade is one of eleven projects to have won a share of more than $137 million under the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Rail program.

The Fixing Country Rail program complements the successful Fixing Country Roads initiative, improving freight infrastructure and efficiency across the state. These programs combined are worth nearly $1 billion.
