Trangie Sporting Precinct Concept Plan on Public Exhibition

Narromine Shire Council is inviting community feedback on the Draft Concept Plan for the Trangie Sporting Precinct, outlining proposed upgrades to the facility.

Council at its Ordinary Meeting on 8 August 2018 adopted the Sport and Recreational Services Master Plan. In response to this, Council engaged the Barnson Landscape Architecture team to develop a Concept Plan for the Trangie Sporting Precinct.

Three workshops have been conducted with sporting clubs who utilise the grounds to identify their future requirements, gain long term ideas for the development of their sports and facilitate a design which balances the needs of all clubs.

The feedback from these workshops was collated by the Barnson Landscape Architecture team and the concept plan developed.

The Concept Plan was developed with consideration to the following objectives:

Following public exhibition feedback, the Concept Plan will be staged to allow for identification of potential funding opportunities, as well as prioritisation of needs and community demand in a logical way. This will ensure that the infrastructure is developed in a way that allows future stages to be completed with minimal disruption.

“The Sporting Precinct Concept Plan fits with our Community Strategic Plan objectives to promote services and provide facilities that foster healthy lifestyles; and recognise the importance and consider resources needed to maintain open spaces, to encourage greater use by the community,” said Ms Jane Redden, General Manager of Narromine Shire Council.

The Plan will be on Public Exhibition until 5pm on Wednesday 17 April 2019. It may be found online at or at the Tomingley BP, Trangie Library, Narromine Library and Narromine Shire Council Customer Service and Payments Centre.

Written submissions may be addressed to the General Manager, PO Box 115, Narromine, NSW 2821 or emailed to Alternatively, residents may complete the online form on Council’s website at
