Rotary Park play area to be closed for repairs

The recent flooding of the Macquarie River has caused Council to close Rotary Park play area due to some significant damage to the softfall.

From last Friday 28 October, 2022 Rotary Park will be fenced off to the public.

“Council staff are waiting for the ground to dry sufficiently to commence the clean-up and repairs”, General Manager Mrs Jane Redden said.

“While the equipment may not be damaged, the wet ground and rising softfall are dangerous, so we need residents to stay out of the fenced off areas.

“Overall, there has been limited damage within the parks network given the amount of water we have seen over the past few weeks,” said Mrs Redden

Council staff continues to do a great job maintaining the parks and gardens. Staying on top of grass growth in these challenging conditions is difficult.

Council would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding while Council staff work on the flood recovery right across the Shire. Unfortunately, wet ground and continuous rain are hampering a lot of repair work, especially along the road network, added Mrs Redden.
