Council is cheering as International Legends of League are set to touch down in the region

Narromine Shire Council welcomes a host of former rugby league stars to Cale Oval on Saturday 29 April 2023.

A rugby league game featuring the QUBE Agri Narromine Jets All-Stars includes ex rugby league greats David Gillespie and David Walsh will join the Jets players to take on the International Legends of League Alkane Resources Team which will include legends of Cliff Lyons, John Hopoate and Ben Hannant.

“The Narromine Shire sporting community will have plenty to cheer about as The Bob Weir Grandstand at Cale Oval will also be officially unveiled and named during the day,” said Narromine Shire Council’s, Deputy Mayor, Clr Dawn Collins.

The International Legends of League visit to Narromine will commence with school football clinics, sporting club visits and social events in the Narromine region throughout the week, in the lead up to the league game on Saturday.

It will be wonderful to see some Narromine greats play against the NRL legends, however what’s even more exciting is the impact the International Legends of League players have when they are out in the community spreading positive messages about the importance of exercise, mental health and sense of community,” said Narromine Shire Council’s, Deputy Mayor, Clr Dawn Collins.

Narromine Shire Council is pleased to facilitate and deliver these kind of initiatives that make such a positive contribution to our community and that is exactly what International Legends of League is, added Clr Collins.

These returning players are taking time out of their busy calendars to give back to the game they love and to engage with young people in the region.
