Narromine and Trangie Aquatic Centres set to re-open under stringent COVID-19 safety plans

Narromine Shire Council’s Aquatic Centres are set re-open in October for the 2021/2022 swimming season.

‘Upon re-opening the Narromine and Trangie Aquatic Centres will have stringent COVID – 19 safety plans approved by NSW Health and patrons using the pools will have to adhere to these plans during the swimming season,’ said Narromine Shire Council’s, General Manager Mrs Jane Redden.

‘The Aquatic Centres are both scheduled to open on 16 October 2021 and it is anticipated that the Narromine Aquatic Centre’s major refurbishment works will be completed in time for opening on this day,’ said Mrs Redden.

‘Narromine Shire Council received funding from NSW Government’s Resources for Regions Program to install a new durable pool liner and pool gutter drainage system for the 50-metre swimming pool. A new system to capture backwash water has been installed that will recycle pool water for irrigation purposes on Council’s parks and gardens whilst the pool's cement surrounds will be replaced with artificial turf to provide a safe non-slip surface.’

‘The pool refurbishment works are expected to provide Council with savings in swimming pool chemical usage and enormous water savings for Council’s parks and gardens during our hot and dry summers,’ added Mrs Redden.

Joint pool season tickets (for use at both Narromine and Trangie) are available for purchase at the aquatic centre venues only, a full season entry ticket will cost a family of four $215 per season and a single full season ticket will cost $110 per person, half season and 10 visit passes are also available. More information about pool season tickets can be found on Council’s website at www.narromine.nsw.gov.au/community/public-pools
