Media Release - Narromine Shire Council's response to stay at home orders

Narromine Shire Council has been very proactive in its response to the most recent restrictions in making sure a wide range of Council Services are maintained and operational, said General Manager Mrs Jane Redden. 

Council has a primary role in this health pandemic and this is to ensure the following essential services such as water, sewer, roads, ranger, waste and amenities cleaning continue to operate effectively. 

Council has closed a number of building and services during the Stay at Home Orders, this includes the Narromine Shire Council Chambers,Customer  Service and Payments Centre, Narromine Aviation Museum and Visitor Information Centre, Narromine Library, Trangie Library and Narromine Sports and Fitness Centre. 

Residents are still able to contact Council on 6889 9999 between business hours  8.30 am through to 5.00 pm. Information can also be sourced on Council’s website 

NSW Health has established a drive through Covid-19 Testing Clinic at Narromine Showground and this will operate all week through to Sunday 22 August 2021 from 9.30 am until 2.30 pm. Testing is also being conducted at Trangie MPS. 

Together with the Local Emergency Management Committee a response to the Stay at Home orders for Narromine LGA have been implemented very quickly, added Mrs Redden. 

The entire community has a role to play in controlling the spread of Covid-19 and everyone is reminded to ensure they stay at home and if they have to leave their home for a valid reason please ensure you are vigilant and wear a mask, practice physical distancing, wash hands regularly with soap and/or use hand sanitiser and be well informed about the common symptoms of Covid-19.
