Outstanding Citizens Recognised at Australia Day Awards 2024 in Narromine and Trangie

The exceptional contributions of community members in Narromine and Trangie were celebrated at the Australia Day Awards on January 26, 2024.

The event in Narromine featured a civic gathering and a Citizenship Ceremony, kicking off with a BBQ Breakfast and delightful performances by Narromine Sing Australia at Dundas Park.

Narromine's Citizen of the Year for 2024 is Mrs. Beryl Hartley, an individual whose unparalleled dedication to the Narromine Shire through gliding is commendable. Beryl played a pivotal role in securing and successfully organising the World Gliding Championships for Narromine in 2015 and 2023.

Additionally, she is an active member of the Narromine 25 Club and serves as the Treasurer of the Narromine Aviation Museum. Recognised with the Bill Iggulden Award by the Gliding Federation of Australia, Beryl has devoted significant time and energy to the organisation.

In Trangie, celebrations unfolded at the United Services Club, hosted by the Trangie Action Group. Trangie's Citizen of the Year for 2024, Mrs. Sue-Ann Fulwood, is a fitting awardee for one of the most outstanding individuals in the Trangie community. Sue-Anne is acknowledged for her immense compassion and thoughtfulness towards patients at the Trangie MPS, consistently going above and beyond to ensure everyone's well-being is considered.

Commending all recipients and nominees, Narromine Shire Council Mayor Clr Craig Davies emphasised the extraordinary contributions of these community-focused individuals in Narromine and Trangie. "We are so fortunate to have the Australia Day Awards and recognise the service and contribution of our outstanding community members. Well done to all award recipients," said Clr Davies.
